I Stood with Educators to Ensure Collective Open Bargaining for our Teachers!
Transparency and fairness in education policy start with giving teachers a real voice at the table. That’s why I stood with educators in support of open bargaining—because when teachers, staff, and the community are involved, we get better outcomes for our schools.
Education is the foundation of our future, and it’s time we fully commit to supporting our schools, teachers, and students. As your State Delegate, I will fight for fully funded schools, competitive teacher pay, and the resources needed for student success.
For too long, our teachers have been underpaid, classrooms have been overcrowded, and critical resources have been neglected. This is unacceptable. If we truly want to build a stronger Maryland, we must invest in education, workforce training, and mental health support for students and educators alike.
✅ Fully Fund the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future
Maryland made a promise to our children through the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future—a bold plan to improve education statewide. But now, some leaders are trying to freeze funding and cut critical investments in our schools. I will fight to ensure every dollar promised to our schools actually reaches our classrooms.
âś… Increase Teacher Pay & Reduce Class Sizes
Teachers are overworked, underpaid, and leaving the profession at alarming rates. We need to raise salaries, improve working conditions, and provide better professional development opportunities to attract and retain high-quality educators. Smaller class sizes will allow teachers to focus on each student’s needs and create a stronger learning environment.
âś… Invest in School Infrastructure & Modern Learning
Too many schools in Prince George’s County are struggling with aging buildings, outdated technology, and a lack of resources. Our children deserve safe, modern, and fully equipped schools. I will push for increased funding for school construction, repairs, and upgraded technology to ensure every student has access to high-quality learning environments.
âś… Expand Career & Technical Education (CTE) Programs
Not every student chooses a traditional four-year college path, and that’s okay. We need to expand Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs to prepare students for high-paying jobs in trades, healthcare, and technology. By partnering with local businesses and labor unions, we can create apprenticeship programs and job training opportunities that give students a direct path to success.
âś… Prioritize Mental Health & Special Education Services
Students today face unprecedented challenges, from mental health struggles to learning disabilities. Schools need more counselors, social workers, and special education resources to ensure that every child—regardless of their background—receives the support they need to succeed.
📢 Education is not just an expense—it’s an investment in our future. I believe that strong schools create strong communities, and I am committed to fighting for the resources, funding, and policies that will make Maryland a leader in education.
