Meet Anthony Tilghman Your Candidate for Maryland State Delegate District 25

Primary Election: Early Voting - June 18, 2026 through June 25, 2026 Election Day - June 30, 2026

CHANGE IS COMING!

“When seeking a role to aid and assist my neighbors, I prioritize three fundamental principles”

Purpose, Respect, and Collaboration.

In my tenure as Commissioner, I have spearheaded initiatives that directly impact the lives of our residents:

Workforce Development

I established District Heights as the first municipality with an in-house workforce development program, helping residents access job opportunities and essential training within their community.

This initiative is designed to empower our residents by providing direct access to job opportunities and essential training right within our community.

By investing in workforce development, we are not only helping individuals build their skills and advance their careers but also strengthening our local economy and fostering a more vibrant community.

Modernizing Services

I facilitated the transition of our District heights Recreation Department from outdated paper processes to efficient digital platforms, improving accessibility for residents.  This modernization improves accessibility for our residents, making it easier to engage with and enjoy the programs and services we offer.

By embracing technology, we’re not only streamlining operations but also enhancing communication and making it more convenient for our community to access recreational opportunities.

Achievements for District Heights!

Through my leadership with the National League of Cities and the Prince George’s County Council, I have successfully secured critical grants that directly benefit our city and its residents. These funds are essential for enhancing community services and support programs that make a meaningful impact in our neighborhood.

In addition, I played a pivotal role in Re-establishing the Boys & Girls Club of District Heights in addition to establishing our city as a safe summer site. This provides a safe space for our youth and also offers vital programs and resources that empower our children and help them thrive.

Community Support

As the Constituent Service Manager for Senator Nick Charles, I’ve had the privilege of serving our community during some challenging times. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, I worked tirelessly to distribute thousands of masks and meals to families in need.

I also made it a priority to address the concerns of the constituents of District 25, ensuring that their needs and voices were heard. This experience has allowed me to gain valuable insights into the ongoing needs and challenges faced by our residents.

Safe Passage for Students

I led the development of the first volunteer-led Safe Passage Pilot program in partnership with Prince George’s County Public Schools, ensuring the safety of students on their way home from school.

Volunteer With Me

Collaboration within our community allows us to achieve great things.

I believe by genuinely supporting our residents, we can witness real and lasting change.

Respect is a cornerstone of leadership. It is a mutual exchange, and differing opinions are part of the process. True leadership is demonstrated by standing up for the community, not merely aligning with colleagues in the room.

Anthony Tilghman is a community advocate who understands the importance of service and results. As your Delegate, he will bring the same dedication to supporting families, solving problems, and improving lives across Prince George’s County.

My campaign is built on the qualities of a well-crafted sword: strong values, the flexibility of open-mindedness to innovation, resilience in the face of challenges, a steadfast dedication to serving the people of Maryland, and most importantly, a willingness to listen and use my skills and talents on behalf of those who need it most.

I understand the challenges we are facing and I am ready to work on solutions for our state!

Be The Change You Want to See!

As a proud resident and current Commissioner of District Heights, I am committed to serving my community with integrity and dedication. Raised in District Heights, a graduate of Prince George’s County Schools, and now an award-winning photographer, children’s book author, and Executive Director of MakeSmartCool—a nonprofit dedicated to youth literacy—I have always sought purpose in being the change I wish to see and empowering others to do the same.
